Agenda Item: Reports-4a Status:, Informational <br /> • MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: November 29, 19.84 <br /> TO: David Childs, City Manager <br /> Department Heads <br /> FROM: Connie Kroeplin, Administrative Secretary <br /> SUBJECT: Staff Meeting Notes - November 28, 1984 <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ <br /> The meeting began at 9:35 A.M. Those present were Dave Childs, Connie Kroeplin, <br /> Larry Hamer, Lee Entner, Ray .Nelson, Don Hickerson, and Carol Johnson. <br /> Ray Nelson indicated that Wednesday, November 21st, was one of the best days for <br /> sales for the liquor operations . <br /> Dave Childs had several items he wanted to discuss at this meeting and had another <br /> meeting to attend immediately after the staff meeting. After polling the Depart- <br /> ment Heads, no one indicated they had any items that needed to be discussed, un- <br /> less time permitted, and Mr. Childs proceeded to list some of the items the Council <br /> will consider at the December 4th meeting. They are: <br /> 1 . aids for the purchase of a new squad have been received by the Police Chief. <br /> It was noted that the bid received from Minar Ford was S400 less than the <br /> Hennepin County Purchasing bid. <br /> 2. The City will again be selling a Certificate of Indebtedness in December. <br /> 3. The "No Parking" signs near the Fosston Townhomes . <br /> 4. The Planning Commission minutes will be presented and include a density variance <br /> request from the St. Anthony Health Center. The Center will be charged for a <br /> plan review. <br /> 5. Two seats on the Planning Commission will become vacant January 1 , 1985; <br /> Bill Bowerman and Bill Zawislak. Mr. Zawislak has indicated he does not desire <br /> to be a member of the Commission any longer and Mr. Bowerman gave a tentative <br /> yes. <br /> 6. The H.R.A. will meet regarding the Walbon Redevelopment. <br /> 7. The Comparable Worth Study is proceeding around the state. Control Data Corp. <br /> was selected to administer the study and the City's cost will be from $5-7,000. <br /> Performance reviews, to be done by the Department Heads, were requested to be <br /> completed by mid-December by Mr. Childs. <br /> • The State Insurance Division has requested a meeting with the Police and Fire Chiefs <br /> and Building Inspectors of both St. Anthony and New Brighton to discuss the effects <br /> of the April tornado relative to insurance. A date was agreed upon in mid-December. <br />
