Because of its age and poor con- <br /> dition, the damage is irreparable. I have checked on a price for a spinner-type <br /> sander, rather than the drop down type we now have . The spinner-type would be <br /> able to sand the streets considerably faster because both sides of the streets <br /> can be covered from one side . The spinner sander would cost approximately <br /> $2, 760.00, installed on the City truck. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT: The purchase of this item was not budgeted for 1984 or 1985 <br /> but it is essential that it be replaced immediately. The purchase would be made <br /> from the Capital Equipment Fund in 1985 and a transfer from General Fund Reserve <br /> may be necessary to cover the cost . <br /> ALTERNATIVES : <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Recommend we purchase this type of unit , which w i l l enable us to <br /> increase productivity over the drop down type.
