I will <br /> instruct Dickson Electric to seek approval to retain the existing <br /> service into the building. If_ thi_s is accomplished, the contract <br /> would be for $2,745.00. <br /> COUNCIL ACTION: By motion, move to award contract for electrical work to be done on <br /> Well #4 to Dickson Electric a's recommended by staff. <br /> BACKGROUND: The state electrical inspector inspected the present electrical box and <br /> service to determine if the well can handle an increase of power. He <br /> said that most of the electrical controls would be alright to use for- the <br /> 480 system, with some modifications. Because we do not need a new service <br /> box, the City will realize a savings of about $7,000, which cost would have <br /> been over and above the $4,000+ quote. <br /> Two quotations were received for the electrical work needed - one from <br /> Anderson Electric, Inc. for $4,480.00 and one from Dickson Electric <br /> for $4,005.00. <br /> Costs were higher due to quotes for underground service. The necessity <br /> for underground service is questionable. If we do not have to install <br /> that service, the City will realize a $1,260:00 savings. <br /> c-i k:1.27.87 <br />
