City <br /> RESOLUTION RELATING TO HEALTH INSURANCE FOR RETIREES <br /> In December of 1984 the Council approved a resolution which would allow <br /> retirees to remain on the City' s health insurance plan at their own <br /> expense. The Hennepin County plan has changed its regulations requiring <br /> that the City pay the employee' s share of health insurance, if retirees <br /> are to be allowed in the program. <br /> The attached resolution would remove eligibility in such a plan for any <br /> future retirees since the City' s policy is not to pay employee cost for <br /> retiree insurance. <br /> Only two employees have taken advantage of this option since 1984. <br /> (Patrolmen Puffer and Schwalbach) . They are grandfathered under the old <br /> plan (they pay their own premiums but are carried on the plan) . <br /> I recommend passing the attached resolution to avoid any employee <br /> misunderstandings about the City',s policy on this matter. <br /> DMC:cjk <br /> :Cjk8 . 11 . 87 <br />
