PRELIMINARY DESIGN REPORT
ST. ANTHONY BLVD. •
RCM PROJECT NO. 861019
INTRODUCTION
This preliminary report has been prepared and is submitted in accordance with our
Agreement with the City of St. Anthony dated August 22, 1986. The project consists of
approximately 2800 feet of Municipal State Aid (MSA) street construction on St.
Anthony Blvd. from a .point 560 feet north of Ridgeway Drive to a point 560 feet south
of the Burlington Northern Railroad tracks.
The Gross golf course, owned by the City of Minneapolis, abuts St. Anthony Boulevard
on the east and the cemetery abuts the roadway on the west. No other property owners
abut the proposed improvements.
The existing roadway is 32 ft-0" wide from face to face of the existing curb. The
existing road section consists of about 2" of bituminous overlaying about 6" of concrete. •
The subgrade material consists of lean moist clay. The road surface is rough and curb
height is reduced due to bituminous overlays for maintenance.
Surface drainage is collected at the low points along the roadway and drains westerly in
storm sewers through the cemetery. Existing catchbasins on each side of the roadway
allow the water to enter the storm water system at each of the low points.
•
-1-
