MEMORANDUM
DATE: February 2 , 1988
TO: David Childs, City Manager
Department Heads
FROM: Connie Kroeplin
ITEM: STAFF MEETING NOTES - FEBRUARY 2, 1988
The meeting began at 10: 00 A.M. Those present were Ray Nelson,
Dave Childs, Larry Hamer, Connie Kroeplin, and Carol Johnson.
Lee Entner was absent.
Dave Childs
1. Discussed the Safety Committee. The Committee was
established last year to evaluate injuries and accidents,
and make recommendations to prevent them. Jim Lorbeski
heads up the Committee whose members include Jay Olson,
Lois Davis , Jack Thoemke, Pat LaValley, and Kevin Swan-
son. The most recent meeting was held at the fire station
with only Jim Lorbeski and Kevin Swanson attending. Mr.
Childs said the duties of this Committee are very important
and should be attended by its members or perhaps alternates
could be appointed for times when the regular members
cannot attend. Mr. Lorbeski should be notified in any case.
2 . Because Ray Nelson has to leave the meeting early and
Chief Entner is absent, discussions on the Safety Manual
and the recommendations on loss control from North Star
Risk were delayed until the next staff meeting..
Ray Nelson
1 . Mr. Nelson is currently exploring alternatives relating to
the Apache Wells Saloon and feels that additional action on
the Speakeasy at the Stonehouse is probably dependent on
final plans for Apache Wells. The Speakeasy is being rented
out for occasional special events at this time.
2 . The big cooler will be moved this weekend and the new off-
sale store should be in operation.by the middle of next week.
3 . Briefly discussed his preference for a single, combined
grand opening and said he will attend the next Council
meeting to speak with the Councilmembers about this matter.
