VII. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR • <br /> I. Scope of Services <br /> A. Assume the responsibility of carrying out the day to day business of NMA and <br /> develop appropriate strategies to implement NMA's "mission statement." <br /> B. Hire necessary and authorized personnel, including hiring both public relations <br /> and governmental relations specialists, with the approval of the "executive <br /> committee," for the purpose of carrying out the specific objectives of NMA. <br /> C. Develop a fund raising program to involve the private business community in <br /> support of NMA through both in-kind contributions, and cash donations to the <br /> organization. <br /> D. Work with community organizations in an effort to maximize the effort of all to <br /> achieve NMA's specific objectives in the area of transportation and economic <br /> development strategies. <br /> E. Report to the Board of Directors and its Operating Committee on a regular basis as <br /> to the progress the organization is making toward achieving its stated "mission." <br /> F. Represent NMA in the capacity of "spokesperson," from time to time, before <br /> governmental bodies, the public, the media and any other organizations that are <br /> appropriate and capable of assisting NMA achieve its stated "mission." • <br /> G. Develop a strategic plan to be presented to the Board of Directors for their <br /> consideration which will include a recommendation on how the organization <br /> should be structured for the future, including a recommendation on who should <br /> assume the position of"executive director" in future years. <br /> I <br /> - 8 - <br />
