Childs, City Manager <br /> REHAB DYNAMICS CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT REQUEST <br /> This is a request from Rehab Dynamics for a conditional use permit at 4001 Stinson <br /> Boulevard, Suite 220 (Apache Medical Center) to allow various types of therapy, <br /> including occupational , physical , speech, therapeutic massage, etc. - <br /> A conditional use permit is required in this case because the zoning ordinance requires <br /> conditional approval for "physical culture or health gyms, spas, or clubs." <br /> It has in the past been interpreted that massage falls into this category and is <br /> therefore subject to this provision of the zoning ordinance. In this case, the massage <br /> is "therapeutic" and done in conjunction with occupational therapy, but the conditional <br /> approval still needs to be considered on this application. <br /> No calls either for or against this request have been received. <br /> I recommend that the Commission listen to the proposal rrom Rehab Dynamics and .then <br /> recommend conditions that would simply limit them to exactly what they propose. Then <br /> any future applicant for such services would have to overcome a medically related <br /> precedent. <br /> :cjk3.15.88 <br />
