STATEMENT OF INTENT.
MICHAEL BONAVENTURA
MARCH 22, 1988
I, Michael Bonaventura, propose to use the free-standing building adjacent
to Apache Plaza (formerly NAPA Auto Parts) for a youth-oriented malt
shop and arcade. I intend to establish a safe and enjoyable recreational
facility for adolescents and young adults in the St. Anthony area. A youth-
oriented recreational facility is needed in this community, where adoles-
cents and young adults currently have limited opportunities to meet with
their friends in facilities that meet the community's high standards of re-
sponsible behavior and are viewed as enjoyable by the young people they
are designed to serve.
This will be a tobacco-free environment, which will be staffed to insure
adequate supervision of youth on the premises. "BONO'S MALT SHOP AND
ARCADE" will feature numerous activities to attract adolescents and young
adults, will provide a healthy, positive recreational climate for them, and
will affirm their value in the community. I believe this facility will create
respect between adolescents, young adults and business leaders in the
area, and will be viewed as an asset to the community by its young clients,
by parents, and by civic and educational leaders in St. Anthony.
•
