Childs City Manager <br /> ITEM : REQUEST FOR ORDINANCE CHANGE TO ALLOW MOTORCYCLE SALES AND <br /> ACCESSORY SHOPS AS A PERMITTED USE IN A "C" COMMERCIAL ZONE <br /> This is a request from Leo Kuelbs to have the Zoning Ordinance amended to <br /> add motorcycle sales and accessory shops to the list of permitted uses in <br /> a commercial zone. The application proposes to open a motorcycle sales <br /> and accessory shop in the St. Anthony Village Shopping Center (in vacant <br /> space located west of B. J. Antiques) . <br /> A similar request was considered . by the Planning Commission in 1982 and <br /> was affirmatively recommended by the Commission as a. conditional use. <br /> The application was withdrawn before Council action - and therefore no <br /> amendment was made. I have attached minutes of those meetings for your <br /> review. <br /> The City's ordinance is drafted such that if a certain use is not listed <br /> as a permitted use_,. then_it_i.s-not_permitted-. This_is_differ.ent-from-an- — <br /> ordinance which gives more broad-based guidelines about permitted uses. <br /> For example, an addition to motorcycle shops, new and used car sales lots <br /> are not permitted in St. Anthony. <br /> :cjk6 . 21.88 <br />
