Childs City Manager <br /> ITEM : REQUEST FROM RAPID OIL CHANGE FOR SIGN VARIANCE <br /> As shown on the attached plans , Rapid Oil Change has revised their <br /> previous plans to remodel 'their building at Silver Lake Road and County <br /> Road "D" . They now propose to completely demolish the- existing building <br /> and construct a new store. on the site. <br /> The new building complies with applicable codes, parking, etc. and <br /> certainly improves traffic flow on the site. Unfortunately, the <br /> ,applicants have had to place the building at an angle to provide the best <br /> traffic flow for the site and best layout of the building. Because of <br /> the angle of the building, the applicants feel they need signs on 3 sides <br /> of their building for adequate signage at Silver Lake Road and County <br /> Road "D" . <br /> In many cases we have allowed 2 signs for a corner building, and that <br /> would be easy to justify here, but this request is for 3 signs because of <br /> the angle of the building. <br /> Total square footage requested on all three signs together is 87.5 feet. <br /> If only one sign was erected, it could be 80 square feet without any <br /> variance. <br /> :cjk6. 21. 88 <br />
