The proposed variance is merely an extension of the one <br /> 4 granted for the .property when .it was first built in 1966. <br /> 5 4 . Were the City to deny the variance, the homeowner could still <br /> 6 build a detached garage which might, in fact, be less desirable for <br /> 7 the neighbors. <br /> 8 5. Although one neighbor , spoke against the variance, it was <br /> 9 because she thought a business was being run out of the home which is <br /> 10 a separate issue from the variance. <br /> 11 Voting on the Notion: <br /> 12 Aye: Hansen. <br /> 13 Nay: London, Franzese, Wagner, Madden, Werenicz . <br /> 14 Motion not carried. <br /> 15 The Chair commented that he perceived the Commission recommendation <br /> 16 -had to be for denial since the above had been so clearly defeated. <br /> 17 Franz ese -told Commissioner Hansen that "without all the qualifiers <br /> 18 you put on the motion, I could have voted for the variance because I <br /> 19 agreed that it was just an extension of the one the City granted in <br /> 0 20 1966 and the addition wouldn't change the existing building <br /> 21 alignment. <br /> 22 NaMe and Werenicz indicated they continued to have problems with <br /> 23 the answers on the application. <br /> 24 Application Withdrawn <br /> 25 Mr. Tomas stated that he was just going to- apply for a building <br /> 26 permit for a detached garage and he hoped "the Commission would be <br /> 27 happy with all those, vehicles parked on the street and around the <br /> 28 yard. " The Chair advised him that sometimes the Council reverses the <br /> 29 Commission recommendation.
