. ain thon <br /> iI IaZ 1 tArT : APPROVAL : <br /> may 9 1989 <br /> TO : <br /> Planning Commission Members <br /> FROM : <br /> Sue VanderHeyden, Acting City Manager <br /> =TEM • STONEHOUSE, 2700 HIGHWAY 88 , SIGNAGE VARIANCE RECOMMENDATION <br /> The St. Anthony City Council at its April •25, 1989 meeting took action <br /> to refer the signage plans for the relocated canopy at the Stonehouse <br /> establishment to the Planning Commission for its recommendation. <br /> The entire signage package plan is enclosed for your review and comment. <br /> As stated in the April 25, 1989 Council minutes, the new canopy sign to <br /> be purchased from Arrow Sign Company does not require a variance. With <br /> the removal of the restaurant sign now located on the front of the <br /> building and the relocating of the existing canopy sign, the new signage <br /> is under the 150 square foot sign surface (144 square feet) allowed per <br /> business: <br /> Action requested is for the Planning Commission to make a recommendation <br /> concerning the existing signage on the half barrel canopy sign which is <br /> to be relocated over the west entrance to the Stonehouse. The southern <br /> exposure of this canopy sign won't be seen, therefore, it does not have <br /> to be taken into consideration. A variance recommendation is needed for <br /> the lettering for the Stonehouse and Dining and Dancing on the front and <br /> northern exposures. Please note that the Stonehouse is located on a <br /> corner and can be seen from a number of streets (Kenzie Terrace, St. <br /> Anthony Boulevard, and Silver Lake Road) . <br /> (Please refer to the enclosed City Council minutes. for more <br /> information. ) <br /> :cjk5.16.89 <br />
