. a®RE te hou
D ATE s APPROVAL e
June 8, 1989
TOr
Mayor and Councilmembers Y
FROM :
Susan L. VanderHeyden, Acting City Manager
2 TEM : PRELIMINARY APPROVAL OF REDESIGNATION OF VARIOUS MSA ROADS
Public Works Director- Hamer is recommending that Wilson Street from St.
Anthony Boulevard to 32nd Avenue N.E. and from 32nd Avenue N.E. and
Belden to 33rd Avenue N.E. and Belden be removed from those streets with
MSA road designation (3 , 245 feet) .
This recommendation is based on the difficulty of obtaining a variance
for reconstruction of the road due to the its width and proximity to
the cemetery (causing the road to not meet MSA standards from Wilson
Street) .
Mr. Hamer has also proposed designation as MSA roads, St. Anthony's side _
of Silver Lane from Silver Lake Road to Oakwood and Old Highway 8 from
33rd Avenue N.E. to Highway 88 (approximately 2,783 feet) . •
The adjacent cities which would be involved in the MSA designation,
Roseville and New Brighton, have been contacted concerning the proposal
and the letters of response are enclosed.
If the proposal is accepted by the City Council , it will then be
presented to -Chuck Weichselbaum, District 5 MSA Engineer. If accepted,
a resolution would then be necessary.
:cjk6.13.89
