The ordinance as presently worded would require haulers to
recycle or deliver to a recycler all newspapers , glass , and aluminum.
Mayor Pro Tem Ranallo expressed the view that the Council should work
out the wording of the ordinance, return it to the task force , and
proceed from there . The current market glut of recycleable materials
is likely to be a _temporary situation and the City should be ready to
proceed with a recycling program once market conditions change .
Council Member Makowske agreed that the best course would be to
• proceed.
