Karon, Director � � Community nd Economic De oY P Ramsey County SUBJECT: Availability of Funds for the Fiscal Year 1990 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program DATE: November 10, 1989 Ramsey County is now accepting applications from suburban Ramsey County municipalities, non-profit organizations, and County Departments for use of the Ramsey County HUD funded CDBG Entitlement program for fiscal year 1990. The following schedule will be adhered to this year: a) Applications will be accepted from November 10, 1989 to February 15, 1990. b) Applications will be reviewed for eligibility and completeness from February 15, 1990 to March 31, 1990. c) The Public Hearing and the County Board review and approval of a Plan for submission to HUD will take place prior to May 15, 1990. d) Funding will be available on July 1, 1990. In accordance with the published Final Rule resulting from changes made by Congress in 1987, the County is seeking applications for projects which will meet the national objective serving persons of low and moderate income. Although our final allocation has not' been determined as yet, we expect to have approximately $850,000 available for this purpose. If 'you have an activity which you believe could benefit low -and moderate income persons in your community which may be eligible for assistance through the Community Development Block Grant program, please call Pat Yoerger at 298-4111 for an application. Should you need assistance in determining if an activity may be eligible for this .program in general, I will be happy to assist you in any way that I can. —AMR-
