person, and every building used in whole or in part as a home or residence for two <br /> or more persons or families living in separate units must conform to the • <br /> requirements of this Section 355:00, irrespective of when the building may have <br /> been constructed, altered, or repaired. This Section 355:00 establishes minimum <br /> standards for erected dwelling units, accessory structures, and related premises. If a <br /> minimum standard in this Section 355:00 is in question, the Minnesota Uniform <br /> Building Code, Minnesota State Electrical Code, Metropolitan Wastewater Control <br /> Commission will govern if more stringent than this Section. <br /> 355:10 Definitions. The following terms will have the following meanings in this <br /> Section 355:00: <br /> Subd 1. Accessory Structure. A structure subordinate to the main or <br /> principal dwelling or dwellings and which is not used nor authorized to be <br /> used for living or sleeping by human occupants and which is located on the <br /> premises. <br /> Subd. 2. AQartment Building. Any structure designed to accommodate <br /> three or more dwelling units. <br /> Subd. 3. Compliance Official. The City Manager and designated agents <br /> authorized to administer and enforce this Section 355:00.. <br /> Subd 4. Composting. Yard waste materials that can be decomposed to create <br /> fertilizer and eliminate the need for disposal. <br /> Subd. 5. Dwelling.elm Building, or portion thereof, designed or used <br /> predominantly for residential occupancy of a continued nature, including <br /> 1-family dwellings, 2-family dwellings, apartment buildings and rooming <br /> units; but not including hotels and motels. <br /> Subd. 6. Dwelling Unit. A single residential accommodation which is <br /> arranged, designed, or intended for use exclusively as a domicile for one <br /> family. Where a private garage is structurally attached, it will be considered <br /> as part of the building in which the dwelling unit is located. <br /> Subd. 7. Family or Household. One person or two or more persons each <br /> related to the others by blood, marriage, adoption, or foster care, or a group of <br /> not more than the owner or a residence plus three persons not so related <br /> occupying the residence and maintaining a common household and using. <br /> common cooking and kitchen facilities. <br />
