Burt, City Manager <br /> FROM: David Mark Urbia, Management Assistant <br /> ITEM: APPLICANTS FOR THE ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY/RECYCLING <br /> COMMITTEE <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> A press release was submitted to all three area newspapers regarding vacancies on the newly <br /> established Environmental Qua]ity/Re cycling Committee. The press release provided for a <br /> application submission due date of October 8th, with the City Council reviewing the <br /> applications at its October 13th meeting. In addition, current Recycling Committee <br /> members were each sent a letter explaining the new committee and inviting them to apply. <br /> The following Saint Anthony residents have submitted applications for this committee: <br /> • Current Recycling Committee Members <br /> Martin Lunde <br /> Keith Pearson <br /> Saint Anthony Residents <br /> Douglas J. Bergstrom <br /> Janis Borys. <br /> Douglas A. Hall <br /> Sandra McDonald <br /> Expressed,Interest - No Application Submitted <br /> Scott Benik <br /> *Will recruit for November 10th appointment. <br /> Up to eleven members can serve on this committee, including a representative from the City <br /> Council and Planning Commission. This means up to nine residents can serve. If the six <br /> current applicants are approved, there will be three vacancies. In the fall newsletter, I <br /> announced openings for this committee. The next due date for applications is November <br /> 5th. If there are additional applicants, they will be presented to the City Council at its <br /> November 10th regular meeting. <br /> A City Councilmember will need to be appointed to this committee. The Planning <br /> • Commission will appoint their representative at its October 20th meeting. The City Council <br /> will also need to give direction as to when the committee should first meet. <br />
