My name is Scott Benik. I am twenty years old and I <br /> gave lived in the City of Saint Anthony for fifteen years. <br /> Currently, I attend the University of Minnesota as a <br /> sophomore. My field of study is Environmental Engineering <br /> and I am planning on a Biology or Political Science minor. <br /> I am very interested in the state of the <br /> environment and doing my part to preserve it; That is why I <br /> am pleased that Saint Anthony has set up the environmental <br /> quality/recycling committee . Being a part of this council <br /> will be a terrific way for me to do my part to preserve the <br /> quality of our lives and of our environment . <br /> There are a couple of topics that I am truly concerned <br /> about . The ground water quality is vital for a community. <br /> With better quality of water, the benefits to the city will <br /> be numerous. Guidelines to ensure the quality of the water, <br /> well into the future, is something I would like to focus on <br /> as a member of this committee. <br /> Another main concern should be to educate both the <br /> young and old on how fragile and important the environment <br /> is. Offering education as part of the curriculum at both the <br /> elementary and secondary levels should be an essential goal <br /> of this committee. Change begins with education. <br /> This committee could accomplish a lot of needed tasks . <br /> As a part of this group, I feel I have a lot of ideas, <br /> enthusiasm, and dedication that could help the state of the <br /> environment and make this committee a success .
