Burt <br /> FROM: David Mark Urbia, Management Assistant <br /> ITEM: APPLICATION FOR GARAGE SETBACK PERMIT, LEONARD J. <br /> CASANOVA, 3312 - 36TH AVENUE NORTHEAST <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The applicant, Leonard J. Casanova, requests a Garage Setback Permit to allow for a nine foot <br /> addition. The minimum setbacks of five feet for one side and fifteen feet for both sides would <br /> normally need a variance. The proposal calls for a four foot setback on the west side and a <br /> combined 12.4'. By allowing this application, the plan would go one foot into the five foot <br /> minimum and 2.6' into the fifteen foot minimum. The proposed garage size of 23.6' X 22.2' <br /> is within the Garage Setback Permit ordinance requirements of no dimension greater-than 24' <br /> and a garage no larger than 528 square feet. There are no visibility, fire safety, or other issues <br /> that would prohibit the granting of this permit. <br /> • RECOMMENDATION <br /> Recommend approval to the City Council the granting of a Garage Setback Permit to Leonard <br /> J. Casanova, 3312 - 36th Avenue Northeast. <br /> This proposal mirrors exactly the intent of amending the ordinance to create the Garage <br /> Setback Permit concept. <br /> • <br />
