Commissioners for 2001: 3 Mayor Cavanaugh reviewed for the audience that interviews for the three open Planning 4 Commission seats had taken place earlier in the evening. At this time, the Council intended to 5 vote on the top three candidates. 6 7 Motion by Hodson to appoint the following individuals to the Planning Commission: 8 Christopher Melsha 9 Brian Steeves 10 Lorin Hatch 11 Motion carried unanimously. 12 B. Appoint Parks Commissioners for 2001. 13 Mayor Cavanaugh stated that interviews for the three Parks Commissioner seats were also 14 conducted earlier in the evening. At this time, the Council intended to vote on the top three 15 .candidates. 1016 Motion by Sparks to appoint the following individuals to the Parks Commission: 17 George Wagner 18 Colleen Hallada 19 Jan Jenson 20 Motion carried unanimously. 21 C. Resolution 00-095 re: Establish Citizen's Committee for Improving the City 22 Hall/Community Center. 23 Sparks reviewed for the Council and the audience that she was invited by six residents of the 24 community to discuss possible improvements to the community center. During the meeting, 25 many suggestions.were made for ways to improve the appearance of the building. Sparks 26 directed the Council's attention to her memo of November 14, 2000 which outlined in further 27 detail the suggestions of the residents during the meeting. In short, however, it was noted that a 28 significant number of residents are disappointed with the building and its uses (the inside and the 29 outside). The main reason is the building does not appear to reflect the community's warmth and 30 energy. To accomplish improvements to the facility, the Council could establish a citizen's 31 committee to work with Staff towards achieving that goal. ® 32 Motion by Sparks to adopt Resolution 00-095, a Resolution Establishing a Citizens Committee 33 for Improving the City Hall/Community Center, wherein the City Council of the City of St.
