Commissioners for 2001: <br /> 3 Mayor Cavanaugh reviewed for the audience that interviews for the three open Planning <br /> 4 Commission seats had taken place earlier in the evening. At this time, the Council intended to <br /> 5 vote on the top three candidates. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Motion by Hodson to appoint the following individuals to the Planning Commission: <br /> 8 Christopher Melsha <br /> 9 Brian Steeves <br /> 10 Lorin Hatch <br /> 11 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 12 B. Appoint Parks Commissioners for 2001. <br /> 13 Mayor Cavanaugh stated that interviews for the three Parks Commissioner seats were also <br /> 14 conducted earlier in the evening. At this time, the Council intended to vote on the top three <br /> 15 .candidates. <br /> 1016 Motion by Sparks to appoint the following individuals to the Parks Commission: <br /> 17 George Wagner <br /> 18 Colleen Hallada <br /> 19 Jan Jenson <br /> 20 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 21 C. Resolution 00-095 re: Establish Citizen's Committee for Improving the City <br /> 22 Hall/Community Center. <br /> 23 Sparks reviewed for the Council and the audience that she was invited by six residents of the <br /> 24 community to discuss possible improvements to the community center. During the meeting, <br /> 25 many suggestions.were made for ways to improve the appearance of the building. Sparks <br /> 26 directed the Council's attention to her memo of November 14, 2000 which outlined in further <br /> 27 detail the suggestions of the residents during the meeting. In short, however, it was noted that a <br /> 28 significant number of residents are disappointed with the building and its uses (the inside and the <br /> 29 outside). The main reason is the building does not appear to reflect the community's warmth and <br /> 30 energy. To accomplish improvements to the facility, the Council could establish a citizen's <br /> 31 committee to work with Staff towards achieving that goal. <br /> ® 32 Motion by Sparks to adopt Resolution 00-095, a Resolution Establishing a Citizens Committee <br /> 33 for Improving the City Hall/Community Center, wherein the City Council of the City of St. <br />
