16 <br /> f. Projecting signs may not extend over a designated parking space or <br /> loading area. <br /> g. Box signs or cabinet signs, whether on a wall,projecting or on canopies, <br /> are prohibited, except for logo signs as approved as part of the overall signage <br /> plan. <br /> h. Signs on canopies are allowed only if they are on a surface perpendicular <br /> to the ground and if all other requirements of this section as to area and location <br /> are adhered to. <br /> i. Allowable area of wall signs is one and one half(I-1/2) square feet of <br /> signage per lineal foot of building frontage on a public street,public open space, <br /> or private parking area. Each wall shall be calculated individually and sign area <br /> may not be transferred to another side of the building. In calculating the total <br /> allowable area of wall signage, only one side of a two-sided projecting sign shall <br /> be counted. <br /> 3. Freestanding signs are prohibited in the HOC-I District, except directional signs <br /> at driveways and within parking areas, if no more than five (5) feet in height and <br /> no more than six (6) square feet in area. Directional signs must be setback at least <br /> two (2) feet from right-of-way, lot lines, and parking spaces. <br /> 4. Freestanding signs are allowed in the HOC-2 District according to the provisions <br /> of Section 10-30 of this Title using the standards for the B-I District. <br /> (F) Lighting: <br /> 1. All exterior lighting in the Heart of the City District shall be downcast cutoff type <br /> fixtures, and shall follow the styles and types identified in the Framework Manual. No <br /> light source may be more than sixteen (16 ) feet above the ground, except by conditional <br /> use permit for buildings more than twenty (20) feet in height. <br /> 2. The applicant shall provide a photometric lighting diagram prepared by a qualified <br /> professional showing light levels, in footcandles, from all exterior artificial lighting for <br /> all points on and within ten (10) feet of the site. <br /> 3. Lighting levels in exterior parking areas shall average qne half(1/2) foot candle, <br /> with a minimum of one tenth (1/10) footcandle in all locations. <br /> 4. Lighting levels in interior parking areas shall average two (2) foot candles, with a <br /> minimum of one half(1/2) footcandle in all locations. <br />
