The,automobile-is the-most-heavily used-mode of transportation <br /> today. The Interstate freeway system serves Hennepin County as well as <br /> state-highways,and county roads. <br /> Tbr,ee quarters-of Hennepin County-commuters drive-to-work alone in an <br /> automobile. In the ten years from 1990-2000, bus and car pool users <br /> declined and the workers-who drive-alone-increased. This-ha-s-an-effect on- <br /> air quality, road congestion, and road construction. <br /> M€tro.Transit, the main mass transit-provider in-Hennepin County, has <br /> increased users by 18% in the last four years.
