City Council Regular Meeting Minutes 7 7 <br /> April 13,2004 <br /> Page 11 <br /> 1 Councilmember Stille noted the Huskies' baseball team had its home opener on May 8, 2004. <br /> 2 He indicated the City would also be dedicating the park on May 8, which would include the <br /> 3 baseball field, with some form of opening ceremonies. He asked for calls to Dave Halstengaard <br /> 4 at 612-781-7619 suggesting names for consideration to throw the opening ball. He added the <br /> 5 game started at 2:00 p.m.; however,he was not sure what time the ceremony would start. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Councilmember Thuesen stated he had no report. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Councilmember Faust noted residents would be receiving the spring Village Notes within the <br /> 10 next few days and he encouraged everyone to read it cover to cover. He stated he wanted to <br /> 11 compliment City Manager Mornson and the City's staff on the great job they did providing <br /> 12 information to the public. He added the newsletter was bi-monthly and recapped everything that <br /> 13 happened at the City Council meetings. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Councilmember Faust indicated May 1 was Cleanup Day. He noted the Village Notes gave the <br /> 16 rates and Cleanup Day provided a"good way to get the City cleaned up and looking good." <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Councilmember Thuesen stated he was glad Councilmember Faust had mentioned the newsletter. <br /> 19 He indicated the information was presented in an excellent manner and was the "best newsletter <br /> 20 put out so far." <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Mayor Hodson stated this was a busy time, especially with media"up and down Silver Lake <br /> 23 Road." He thanked those who were answering calls and"putting it all together" and noted he <br /> 24 had heard many complimentary comments regarding the redevelopment of Apache Plaza. He <br /> 25 indicated the City had a lot of"hard lifting"in the next few months and thanked staff and <br /> 26 Council for being so well prepared. He added this would be well worth the effort in the long run. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 Mayor Hodson noted he continued to receive e-mails, along with many questions from residents. <br /> 31 He encouraged residents to continue asking questions, as communication was a critical piece of <br /> 32 what the City was trying to accomplish. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 No one came forward to address Council. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 IX.
