Agenda Item: Reports-3a Status : Informational <br /> • MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: April 6 , 1983 <br /> TO: David Childs, City Manager <br /> Department Heads <br /> FROM: Connie Kroeplin, Administrative Secretary <br /> SUBJECT: Staff Meeting Notes - April 6 , 1983 <br /> ---------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> The meeting began at 10 : 45 A.M. Those present were : Dave Childs , <br /> Larry Hamer, Don Hickerson, Ray Nelson, Lee Entner, Carol Johnson , and <br /> Connie Kroeplin. <br /> Dave Childs briefly listed items to be included in the Council ' s <br /> April 12th agenda. They were : <br /> (1) Chemical Abuse Information Committee minutes ; <br /> (2) Monthly reports from the Fire Department and Finance Department; <br /> ( 3) Second reading of the Cable T.V. ordinance amendment; <br /> (4) Water report; <br /> (5) Skating rink report; <br /> • (6) Several licenses will be presented for approval . <br /> Larry Hamer had received an application for use of a City park for <br /> a softball tournament to raise funds (to be held in June) . He ques- <br /> tioned what types of fees should be charged for this type of park <br /> use , i .e. , a users fee , a beer permit, state approval to sell food. <br /> There would be 24 teams participating. He suggested Ray Nelson check <br /> to see if the applicant would be interested in having pictures taken. <br /> Mr. Nelson mentioned he has purchased a player piano for use in the <br /> Speak Easy . He feels customers would enjoy singing along with the songs . <br /> A lengthy discussion ensued concerning possible state aid cuts to <br /> cities . Mr. Childs stated he would be discussing this matter at the <br /> Council ' s April 12th meeting . He pointed out the proposal could\ <br /> mean ,St. Anthony might possibly lose all of its state aid, or at <br /> best a substantial portion. <br /> Mr. Hamer indicated the Council had approved advertising for bids for <br /> - painting the City ' s water tower at their April 5th special meeting. <br /> The request for bids will be published for two weeks and will be <br /> opened at 2 : 00 P .M. , April 21st. The bid will be awarded at the <br /> Council ' s April 27th meeting. <br /> The meeting was adjourned at 11 :45 A.M. <br /> • <br /> cJk <br />
