Hickerson, Chief of Police <br /> FROM:' Richard Engstrom, Investigator <br /> SUBJECT: Case status for January, 1983 <br /> In January, 1983, I screened thirty-three ( 33) new cases for <br /> the month. Of those cases eighteen (18) met the criteria for <br /> an active investigation. I carried an additional sixteen (16) <br /> cases into January from previous months.. <br /> Those eighteen (18) cases investigated for January are as <br /> follows: <br /> 1 - Aggravated Forgery U.F. I . 1 - Suspect Cleared <br /> 1 - Death Investigation Suicide Cleared <br /> 1 - Kidnap - C. S.C. (1979 case) 1 - Suspect Charges pending <br /> 1 - Flee Police in Motor Veh. 1 - Suspect Charged <br /> 1 - Flee Police in MV/Agg. DWI 1 - Suspect Charged <br /> 1 - Felony Theft by Check 1 - Suspect Charges pending <br /> 1 - Harrassing Phone Calls 1 - Suspect City Atty Compl. <br /> 1 - Felony Theft 1 - Suspect Complaint <br /> 4 - Burglary-Residence 1 - Suspect Cleared-Spriegeled <br /> 1 - Exposer (Sex Offense) <br /> 1 - Assault - 4th Degree 1 - Suspect Complaint <br /> 1 - U. U. M. V. 2 - Suspects Open <br /> 1 - D. O. C. - Exposer 1 - Suspect Arrested (Mental) <br /> 1 - Arson ( 1979 case) 2 - Suspects Open <br /> 1 - Attempt Theft by Trick Open <br /> Out of those eighteen (18) cases , six (6) suspects were arrested <br /> in six ( 6) cases. Eight (8) suspects remain to be arrested and/ <br /> or charged. One ( 1) suspect was involved in four (4) house <br /> burglaries in mid January. He is still in Jail on burglary <br /> charges. <br /> January was a moderately light month and the crime rate is at <br /> a tolerable level for a city of our size . <br /> No Search Warrants were executed or special details during Janu- <br /> ary, 1983. <br /> Two (2) investigations consumed much of my time during January, <br /> Residential Burglaries four (4) and Felony Theft (Kentucky <br /> Fried Chicken) . <br />
