Chief Entner said there <br /> has been a great deal of interest demonstrated in this program but he " <br /> anticipates it would take at least five years to get a really effective <br /> joint venture worked out. However, he said he is now talking to <br /> Columbia Heights and six other communities about the joint purchase of <br /> fire pumpers, which could result in a real savings for St. Anthony <br /> in the meantime. <br /> Councilman Ranallo told the Chief he would probably be invited to <br /> explain the City's success in combining part time with full time fire- <br /> fighters at the League of Cities convention in June and at that time <br /> he would be afforded the opportunity of promoting the joint purchasing <br /> venture before 100 or more municipal officials . The Fire Chief <br /> indicated he would be able to make . the presentation June 15th. <br /> The Manager reported he and Mr. Soth and tor. Krier would be meeting <br /> with the redeveloper the next day to commence negotiations for the <br /> Kenzie Terrace Redevelopment Project. He then reported an annual <br /> liquor net of $440, 000 for the City in 1982 , which, although lower <br /> than 1981, would probably keep the City in first place among Minnesota <br /> communities again this year. <br /> The February 23rd staff notes were acknowledged and ordered filed. <br /> A copy of the Memorandum of Understanding with Columbia Heights for <br /> engineering services from that city and the proposed resolution which <br /> would authorize the execution of the agreement had been included in <br /> the agenda packet along with the '"anager's recommendation for <br /> adoption.
