City of Saint Anthony Housing Maintenance Ordinance Draft Number 1 -- November 10, 1991 Page Number 2 1 person, and every building used in whole or in part as a home or residence for two or more 2 persons or families living in separate units shall conform to the requirements of this 3 ordinance, irrespective of when such building may have been constructed, altered, or 4 repaired. This ordinance establishes minimum standards for erected dwelling units, 5 accessory structures, and related premises. If a minimum standard in this ordinance is in 6 question, the Minnesota Uniform Building Code, Minnesota State Electrical Code, 7 Metropolitan Wastewater Control Commission shall be referred to and be applicable in the 8 case that a minimal standard in this ordinance is not as stringent/current as the referred to 9 code. 10 11 SECTION 1. 12 13 DEFINITIONS. The following definitions shall apply in the interpretation and 14 enforcement of this ordinance: 15 16 1. Accessory structure - a structure subordinate to the main or principal dwelling 17 or dwellings and which is not used nor authorized to be used for living or 18 sleeping by human occupants and which is located on or partially on the 19 premises. 20 21 2. Building - any structure erected for the support, shelter, or enclosure of 22 persons, animals, chattels, or movable property of any kind. . 23 24 3. Compliance Official - the City Manager and his/her designated agents 25 authorized to administer and enforce this ordinance. 26 27 4. Dwelline - a building, or portion thereof, designed or used predominantly for 28 residential occupancy of a continued nature, including 1-family dwellings, 2- 29 family dwellings, and multiple family dwellings; but not including hotels and 30 motels. 31 32 5. Dwelling unit - a single residential accommodation which is arranged, 33 designed, used or, if vacant, intended for use exclusively as a domicile-for one 34 family. Where a private garage is structurally attached, it shall be considered 35 as part of the building in which the dwelling unit is located. 36 37 6. Family - any of the following definitions shall apply: 38 39 - A person or persons related by blood, marriage, or adoption, together with 40 his/her or their domestic servants or gratuitous guests, maintaining a common 41 household in a dwelling unit;
