City of Saint Anthony Housing Maintenance Ordinance <br /> Draft Number 1 -- November 10, 1991 <br /> Page Number 6 <br /> 1 MAINTENANCE OF SHARED OR PUBLIC AREAS. Every owner of a dwelling <br /> 2 containing two or more dwelling units shall maintain in a clean and sanitary condition the <br /> 3 shared or public areas of the dwelling and premises thereof. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 MAINTENANCE OF OCCUPIED AREAS. Every occupant of a dwelling, dwelling unit <br /> 6 or rooming unit shall maintain in a clean and sanitary condition that part or those parts of <br /> 7 the dwelling, dwelling unit and premises thereof that he/she occupies and controls. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 STORAGE AND DISPOSAL OF RUBBISH AND RECYCLABLES. Every occupant <br /> 10 of a dwelling, dwelling unit or rooming unit shall store and dispose/recycle of all his/her <br /> 11 rubbish and recyclables in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner as prescribed by Chapter### <br /> 12 of the City Ordinances. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 STORAGE AND DISPOSAL OF GARBAGE. Every occupant of a dwelling, dwelling unit <br /> 15 or rooming unit shall store and dispose of all his/her garbage and any other organic waste <br /> 16 which might provide food for insects and/or rodents in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner <br /> 17 as prescribed by Chapter ### of the City Ordinances. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 RESPONSIBILITY FOR STORAGE AND DISPOSAL OF GARBAGE AND <br /> 20 RUBBISH/RECYCLABLES. Every owner of a multiple family dwelling shall supply <br /> 21 facilities for the sanitary and safe storage and/or disposal of garbage and rubbish/recyclables. <br /> 22 In the case of single or two-family dwellings, it shall be the responsibility of the occupant to <br /> 23 furnish such facilities. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 RESPONSIBILITY FOR STORM AND SCREEN DOORS AND WINDOWS. T h e <br /> 26 owner of a rental dwelling unit shall be responsible for providing and hanging all screens and <br /> 27 storm doors and storm windows whenever the same are required under the provisions of this <br /> 28 ordinance. <br /> 29 <br /> 30. RESPONSIBILITY FOR PEST EXTERMINATION. Every occupant of a dwelling <br /> 31 containing a single dwelling unit shall be responsible for the extermination of vermin <br /> 32 infestations and/or rodents on the premises. Every occupant of a dwelling unit in a dwelling <br /> 33 containing more than one dwelling unit shall be responsible for such extermination whenever <br /> 34 his/her dwelling unit is the only one infested. Notwithstanding, however, whenever <br /> 35 infestation is caused by the failure of the owner to maintain a dwelling in a rodent-proof or <br /> 36 vermin-proof condition, extermination shall be the responsibility of the owner. Whenever <br /> 37 infestation exists in two or more of the dwelling units in any dwelling, or in the shared or <br /> 38 public parts of any dwelling containing two or more dwelling units, extermination shall be <br /> 39 the responsibility or the owner. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 RODENT HARBORAGES PROHIBITED IN OCCUPIED AREAS.
