Survey respondents were willing to pay more to improve only the police services (55%), while fire
protection and emergency medical services had 50 percent willing to pay more for improvement of the
services. All other City services received from 62 percent to 82 percent no responses to the question
of "willing to pay more to improve the service."
i
Profile of Residents Returning Surveys
The last three questions of the survey concern information about the resident responding to the survey;
the quadrant of the city in which the resident lives, the age of the "head" of household, and if there arc
any children under the age of 19 years living in the home.
Approximately one-third of the residents who returned surveys were from the southeast quadrant of the
City, while the other three quadrants were almost equally represented. The distribution was as follows:
Northwest Quadrant - 23%
Northeast Quadrant - 24%
Southwest Quadrant - 22%
Southeast Quadrant - 32%
Table B-1 shows the results of the question on the age of the head-of-household and compares the
percentage of each age group represented in the survey to that percentage that particular group
respondents in each. Approximately two-thirds of the respondents indicated that the age-of the head of
their household was 46 years of age or older.
#9425 B-7
