Planning Commission Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> • May 16, 1995 <br /> Page 11 <br /> I Chair Bergstrom requested staff to do a traffic study and have the results for the Council by their <br /> 2 May 23rd meeting. <br /> 3 Chair Bergstrom closed the public hearing at 8:47 P.M. <br /> 4 Commissioner Horst indicated even after a traffic study is done,the numbers would still be <br /> 5 estimates and it would be difficult to quantify the results. <br /> 6 Chair Bergstrom indicated presumably there is a maximum to the capacity of traffic for the road. <br /> 7 Commissioner Thompson indicated if he lived on Fordham Drive he would welcome this type of <br /> 8 development. <br /> 9 Commissioner Makowske indicated he felt the development would have benefit to the <br /> 10 neighborhood. He urged the developer to hold a neighborhood meeting to answer questions of <br /> 11 the residents. <br /> 12 Commissioner Makowske indicated the headlights are still an issue,but if the developer is <br /> 13 willing to work with the residents, his concerns would be addressed. <br /> q4 Motion by Commissioner Faust, second by Commissioner Horst, to recommend Council <br /> 15 approval of property subdivision of property known as Mounds View Acres, Second Addition <br /> 16 into three parcels, with specific attention to: <br /> 17 * drainage and Rice Creek Watershed District requirements <br /> 18 * visual separation of property between Mounds View Acres and Evergreen Townhomes <br /> 19 * stop sign placed on 39th and Fordham Drive to address traffic concerns <br /> 20 * resident directly across from entrance to Mounds View Acres, be given consideration <br /> 21 regarding automobile headlights. <br /> 22 Commissioner Gondorchin inquired if there is concern with any site plan changes. <br /> 23 Mr.Newman indicated there would be no drastic changes other than custom designs, perhaps <br /> 24 patios, etc., but the overall appearance of the site plan would not change. <br /> 25 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Chair Bergstrom indicated this item will be reviewed by Council at their May 23, 1995 meeting, <br /> 7 and urged those concerned to attend that meeting. <br />
