The potential redevelopment or revitalization areas, shown on Figure 2, include:
• Single-family housing along Central Avenue and non-residential structures along that street that
are economically and/or physically obsolescent (some of these would probably have to be
combined with other commercial sites and/or housing sites in order to make a sufficiently large
parcel)
• The portions of the industrial area in the southwest corner of the city
• Industrial sites west of University Avenue
• Industrial properties along California Street
• Single-family housing in the vicinity of 38th Avenue
• Single-family housing facing University-Avenue (possible consolidation for .redevelopment to
higher density housing)
• Several parcels near the southwest corner of University and 40th Avenues(possible consolidation
for redevelopment to business and/or multiple-family housing)
• The several very large blocks in the southeastern part of the city that are large enough to possibly
accommodate a new local street up the middle.
• The immediate vicinity of'the potential light rail'transit stations along University Avenue.
p.0 24
