Conversely, the percentage of children (ages 0-5) was reduced by nearly one- <br /> half from 15% in 1970 to 8% in 1980. The aging of New Brighton's population is not an <br /> uncommon pattern. As the baby boom generation enters middle age, the population of the <br /> Twin Cities Metropolitan area and the nation as a whole has followed a similar pattern of <br /> aging. <br /> • <br />
