Wells in operable condition that pose no
threat of contamination will be allowed to remain. State of Minnesota
requirements specify that all water well sealing must be performed by
State licensed and approved water well contractors with abandonment
reports (water well records) being submitted to both the State of
Minnesota and the City of St. Louis Park.
Water wells are normally found in the basements of homes either with
the pump still in place, or more commonly with a short stub of well
casing protruding above the floor.
To seal an abandoned well , the contractor must pump a cement-benton i te
mixture down the well casing under pressure, completely filling the
well casing from the well point back up -to the top portion of the well
casing.
S
I
604 !
O Ira,a
WELL I soave vy°•
•w ----- — ------J o.Y.• a4
.e, beevvaQ7
w ,asa d. ewaQaQdo
dao a°vaao o 1g,A o a•se
WATER TABLE
.WATER AQUIFER
MOVEMENT j
POINT
AQUIFER.
