17 <br /> • Subd. 1. Residential. The following signs are permitted in a residential <br /> district: <br /> (1) R-1. R-1A & R-2. . One.identification sign per dwelling .unit per <br /> right-of-way frontage stating the street address; and/or the name <br /> Of the resident: Additionally, one address sign may be located on <br /> the curb in front of each dwelling unit or on a freestanding <br /> mailbox. <br /> (2) R-3 & R-4. Each multiple dwelling complex .(nine or more units) <br /> will be allowed one freestanding sign identifying the complex. <br /> The sign may not exceed 50 square feet in sign surface area. The <br /> sign structure including the sign surface area, may not exceed 150 <br /> square feet in area. The highest point of the sign may not be . <br /> more .than 10 feet above ground level. <br /> (3) Each church located within the corporate limits of this City, <br /> subject to approval of size, location and type by the City Manager, <br /> may erect and maintain a maximum of three directional signs <br /> on municipal rights-of-way. No church may erect or maintain <br /> more-than one.such sign at any intersection. <br /> • 4 Each of the following may erect and maintain one ground sign <br /> ( ) g Y <br /> subject to the provisions of Section 1400.10 on the property to <br /> which the sign pertains: <br /> (a) Schools and .publicly owned facilities listed in Section 1615.02 <br /> (b) and (c); and Section 1616.02 (b) and (c). <br /> (b) Churches, temples, synagogues, and City buildings listed in <br /> Section 1615.03 (a) and (c); and Section 1616.03 (b). <br /> Subd. 2. Commercial and Limited Business. The following signs are allowed <br /> in a "B" Service Office Limited Business District and .."C" Commercial Districts <br /> and may be erected after obtaining.a permit and paying a required license fee. <br /> (1) One identification sign per right-of-way frontage per commercial <br /> establishment. The sign may have no more than 2 square feet of <br /> surface area per lineal foot of business_frontage, up.to a <br /> maximum of 150 square feet. The total area of all wall signs <br /> affixed to a wall may not exceed 15% of the total area of that wall. <br /> (2) A gasoline station will be allowed; in addition to all other <br /> • authorized signs, one pylon sign to identify the gasoline brand. <br /> 14-13 <br />
