St. Anthony Municipal water Supply <br /> - November 13, 1981 <br /> • Recommendations: <br /> 1. The continued use of well 03 which -has ungrouted construction through the <br /> Shakopee-Oneota dolomite, will depend on the continued satisfactory sanieary <br /> quality of the water. If a deterioration in water quality occurs, recon- <br /> struction or abandonment of the well will be necessary. <br /> 2. Chlorine rooms should have: <br /> a. Switches for the exhaust fan and lights located outside the chlorine <br /> room, preferably near the inspection window. <br /> 3. The primary potential health hazard to the municipal drinking water supply <br /> is the presence of cross-connections on the distribution system. All <br /> municipal systems have cross-connections and City personnel should be . <br /> constantly alert for them. Tine City should promote an aggressive cross- <br /> connection program.and designate a full time individual to provide super- <br /> vision and execution of the followings <br /> a. The detection and correction of cross--connections to unsafe <br /> water supplies. <br /> b. The education of the public on the dangers of cross-connections.. <br /> c. The installation of vacuum breakers on all threaded hose bibbs in <br /> new and old buildings. <br /> d. The replacement of defective plumbing in older buildings. <br /> • e. Periodic cross-connection inspections of potentially hazardous <br /> industries and commercial establishments. <br /> 4. The City should continue to provide the opportunity for additional training <br /> in the water supply field to all of the operators.
