• <br /> Agenda Item: Reports-4a Status: Informational <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: June 19 , 1984 <br /> TO: Department Heads <br /> David Childs , City Manager <br /> FROM: Connie Kroeplin, Administrative Secretary <br /> SUBJECT: Staff Meeting Notes - June 19, 1984 <br /> -------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> The meeting began at 10 : 15 A.M. Those present were Dave Childs , <br /> Ray Nelson, Don Hickerson, Larry Hamer, Carol Johnson, Lee Entner, <br /> and Connie Kroeplin. <br /> Larry Hamer indicated due to the April 26th tornado, several of the <br /> Public Works ' projects are behind schedule, but he expects to be <br /> • caught up in the near future . Seal coating will be done in August, <br /> west of Silver Lake Road from 27th Avenue to 33rd Avenue. They will <br /> seal coat as much as funds allow. <br /> Mr. Hamer also expects to secure all the easements for the Roseville <br /> waterline connection by the end of this week (6/22) . The City of <br /> St. Paul has agreed to lend the Village an 8" meter needed for the <br /> connection, which will save the Village about $8,000 . The project <br /> is expected to commence about Thursday, June 21st, following a public <br /> hearing for approval as required by the EPA on Wednesday, June 20th. <br /> The new police squad has been promised to be ready by June 28th by <br /> the Ford Company. Mr. Hamer had discussed the delays in the purchase <br /> at a Hennepin County purchasing meeting. He said he received very <br /> little cooperation from that group. The new plow truck purchased <br /> by the Public Works Department will also be ready soon. <br /> About a thousand dead fish had been found floating in Silver Lake. <br /> Mr. Hamer- contacted the DNR about the cause and that agency found it <br /> was caused by a bacteria only harmful to small blue gills and crappies . <br /> There is no health threat to humans. <br /> Carol Johnson had recently attended a purchasing conference in Duluth <br /> which she felt was a very good one. She will attend a Finance <br /> Officers meeting on microcomputers and local government June 20th. <br /> Mrs. Johnson has and will attend election meetings. She indicated <br /> there is a new state law requiring the City Hall be kept open the <br />
