-5- <br /> • RESOLUTION 84-029 <br /> A RESOLUTION AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION <br /> OF A WATERMAIN INTERCONNECTION <br /> Motion carried unanimously . <br /> The Manager reported St. Paul would be willing to sell water to the City <br /> at the same rate they charge their high tier cumstomers, rather than <br /> the lower rate charged to Roseville, but he said he anticipated a lower <br /> rate than 75fi could be negotiated with St. Paul if the Roseville Con- <br /> nection were to become permanent. Mr. Childs said the City would <br /> have to pay out about 45G per hundred cubic feet more for St. Paul <br /> water than is charged the City users under the new water rates. <br /> Mr. Hamer reported encountering no problems with negotiating the seven <br /> easements necessary for the watermain construction. <br /> A rough draft of the agreement with St. Paul and Roseville for the <br /> water connection had been included with the Council agenda and Mr. <br /> Childs told the Council there had been no problem with the concept at <br /> the City, Roseville, or St. Paul staff level. He said the final <br /> document to be drafted by the attorneys for the three parties would be <br /> submitted for the St. Paul Water Board approval , June 20th. <br /> Motion by Councilman Ranallo and seconded by Mayor Sundland to adopt <br /> • the resolution which authorizes the City Manager and Mayor, and to be <br /> reviewed by the City Attorney, to enter into an agreement with Roseville <br /> and St. Paul for Roseville to provide water to St. Anthony for a period <br /> ending October 31, 1985 , in accordance with the rough draft presented <br /> to the City Council and Mayor, June 11 , 1984 . <br /> RESOLUTION 84-030 <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY MANAGER TO <br /> ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CITIES OF <br /> ROSEVILLE AND ST. PAUL FOR A WATERMAIN <br /> INTERCONNECTION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> The Manager had several encouraging reports related to City properties . <br /> He said the home at 3012 Silver Lake Road, which had been so poorly <br /> maintained had been foreclosed by the VA and the Clark Oil Company <br /> property on the corner of 33rd Avenue and Stinson Boulevard had been <br /> sold to a neighbor. He also indicated the adjoining property owners <br /> to the Walbon property on Old Highway 8 seemed to be generally agree- <br /> able to having that property developed for a 32 unit townhome project <br /> in spite of one strong objection from one neighbor. <br /> Mr. Childs said H.U.D. officials would be in the City to investigate <br /> the request for 202 funding for the Kenzie Terrace senior housing <br /> • project which the Manager reported had tied for first place Metropolitan <br /> Council rating with a Rogers, Minnesota project. <br /> In his June 8th memorandum recommending Council approval of the police <br /> contract negotiated with AFSCME, Mr. Childs had recommended funding a <br />
