'Walker on Kenzie <br /> File No. I2I37-I <br /> Coements <br /> Walker on Kenzie is a proposal for construction of a 45-unit develop-ment in St. <br /> Anthony at 2626 Kenzie Terrace N.E. —Me plan is for one-bedroon units, five of <br /> which will be wheelchair accessible. Construction would be firarced through <br /> the Section 202 Program and Section 8 money would be used to subsidize tanant <br /> rental payments. Initial rents are projected at $466 per month. <br /> St. Anthony's comprehensive plan has been reviewed by the Metropolitan <br /> Council . This proposal is consistent Nits the comprehensive plan. Central <br /> sewer and water are available and metropoli-"n interceptor and treatment <br /> capacity is adequate. <br /> The site offers excellent access to residential services. Two regular transit <br /> lines operate within two blocks of the site. An adjacent cam-unity-level <br /> shopping center contains a pharmacy, bank, hardware stor:, library, bomlIng <br /> alley and grccerl store. A regional shopping center is lecatad about one and <br /> one-half miles from t!�e site. A park is about a half mile away. Medical and <br /> dental clinics are available nearby and, t7m hospitals can be easily reached in <br /> fi fteen minutes. <br /> No negative impact an the environment or metrapalitan services is anticipated <br /> If the proposal is implemented. Air and vehicle traffic are not likely to <br /> detrimentally af;;ct the intended residential site use.
