MEMORANDUM - DATE: November 4 , 1987 TO: David Childs , City Manager Department Heads FROM: Connie Kroeplin, Secretary ITEM: STAFF MEETING NOTES - NOVEMBER 3 , 1987 The meeting began at 10 : 05 A.M. Those present were Don Hickerson, Dave Childs , Ray Nelson, Connie Kroeplin, and Larry Hamer. Lee Entner was attending a Fire Chief ' s conference and Carol Johnson, was attending a meeting with other municipalities in Hennepin County to decide on medical insurance for city employees. IN- Dave Childs 1. Don Sadler, a representative from Amoco Oil, has arranged a meeting with Chiefs Hickerson and Entner and Mr. Childs for November 9th at 10 A.M. to discuss emergency procedures, etc. concerning Amoco' s oil pipeline in the City. 2 . A representative from EBA, the City' s insurance carrier, met and discussed loss control with Mr. Childs and other Depart- ment Heads. The representative had a number of suggestions as far as City liabilities , which he would be forwarding in a letter to the City. 3 . Lois Davis has been hired as a Senior Accountant for the City -and will start November 18th. Ms . Davis has previously worked for the Ebenezer Society and Group Health. She also has a two year degree in accounting. Ms. Davis lives in New Brighton. Connie Kroeplin 1. Mrs. Kroeplin indicated the government access cable T.V. chan- nel should be on the air sometime next week, and has recently been off the air due to equipment problems relating to a part which is expected to be delivered soon. Ray Nelson 1. There was a costume party held at the Stonehouse Halloween night. Mr. Nelson indicated business was good on that night and, in fact, is doing very well all around. Don Hickerson 1 . The seven new Police Reserves have had training in radio usage and been fitted for uniforms at a meeting the previous night. Some will need first aid training also. It is expected the Reserves will be riding with officers soon. The meeting adjourned at 10 : 50 A.M. :cjk
