JOINT AND COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT ? <br /> LOCAL GOVERNMENT .INFORMATION SYSTEMS <br /> i <br /> The parties to this agreement are governmental units of the State of <br /> Minnesota. This agreement is made and entered into pursuant to Minnesota <br /> Statutes, Section 471.59. <br /> I. GENERAL PURPOSE <br /> The general purpose of this agreement is to provide for an organiza-' <br /> tion through which the parties may jointly and cooperatively provide for <br /> the .establish-ment, operation and maintenance of data processing facilities <br /> and management information systems for the use and benefit of the parties <br /> and others. <br /> II. DEFINITION OF TERMS <br /> Section 1. For the purposes of this agreement, the terms defined in <br /> this article shall have the meanings given them. <br /> Section 2. "Local Government Information Systems" means the organi- <br /> zation created pursuant to this agreement, which organization is hereafter <br /> referred to as "LOGIS." <br /> Section 3. "Board" means the Board of Directors of LOGIS, consisting <br /> of one director from each governmental unit which is a member of LOGIS. <br /> Section 4. "Council" means the governing body of the member govern- <br /> mental unit, except that in the case of any department or agency of the <br /> state, council shall be deemed to mean the Commissioner of Administration <br /> of the State of Minnesota. <br /> Section 5. "Member" means a governmental unit which enters into this <br /> agreement and is, at the time involved, a party in good standing. <br /> Section 6. "Governmental unit" means any city, village, borough, <br /> town or other political subdivision of the State of Minnesota or any <br /> department or agency of the state government. <br /> Section 7. "Software" means computer programs, form designs, user <br /> manuals and associated documentation. <br /> III. MEMBERSHIP <br /> Section 1. Any governmental unit is eligible to be a member of <br /> LOGIS. <br /> • <br /> -1- <br />
