MEMORANDUM <br /> • -DATE: May 18, 1988 <br /> TO: Dave Childs, City Manager <br /> Department Heads <br /> FROM: Connie Kroeplin <br /> ITEM: STAFF MEETING NOTES - MAY 18, 1988 <br /> The meeting began at 9:05 A.M. Those present were Dave Childs, <br /> Don Hickerson, Ray Nelson, Carol Johnson, Larry Hamer, Lee <br /> -Entner, and .Connie- Kroeplin-. <br /> Don Hickerson <br /> 1. Miscellaneous items held or owned by the City (bicycles, <br /> etc. ) will be auctioned at the Fridley Auction Center on <br /> Monday, May 23rd. <br /> 2 . There are two finalists for the police officer opening. A <br /> background check is being run on both of them and a new <br /> officer will be selected in about two weeks. <br /> • 3 . In an effort to reduce the speed of traffic in the area of <br /> 39th and Fordham, several ideas were proposed and discussed. <br /> Mr. Childs requested Mr. Hickerson and Mr. Hamer to study <br /> the matter further, set up a traffic count and determine <br /> the best solution. <br /> 4. The detour sign problem on St. Anthony Boulevard will be <br /> corrected today, the first day of the project. The contr- <br /> actor was made aware of the corrections needed. The pro- <br /> ject is expected to take about 6 weeks. <br /> Ray Nelson <br /> 1. Restrooms in the Stonehouse are nearing completion. <br /> 2 . The SAV I "Grand Opening" will be held on May 19, 20, and <br /> 21 . There will be gifts, extra discounts, and give-aways. <br /> 3 . Shrubbery will be planted around the Stonehouse. <br /> 4 . The patio will be opened soon. <br /> 5. Mr. Nelson spoke with C. G. Rein last week about Apache <br /> Wells and expects to hear from them soon regarding that <br /> establishment. <br />
