Childs, City Manager
I TEM : FIRE DEPARTMENT HVAC SYSTEM
As you know, the heating .system at the fire station is antiquated,
inefficient and on its very last legs. The outlook for it surviving
the winter isn't good. There is no central air conditioning system
for the building with several old and inefficient window units
attempting to do the job.
As part of the updating process of the fire station, it is
recommended that a new HVAC system be considered at this time.
-One of our reserve firefighters, Bruce Holten, is a building
contractor. He has been most generous with his time and talents in
helping us find reputable contractors, and in getting them to
develop proposals. In addition, he will help us make sure that the
job is done correctly.
The project would hav two parts:
1) The HVAC equipment.
2) Installation of new system and demolition of the old system.
0.
We have two quotes on each of the two parts of the system and one
quote for both parts together.
Part 1 . Equipment $7,200 from Arco
$8, 300 from Bryant
Part 2. Installation/demolition
$13,200 from Advanced Mechanical Contractors
excluding electrical $14 ,950 from Maintenance
Enterprises
The third bid from HOOV-Aire at $24,600 exceeds the total of any of
the single bids below.
Electrical is expected to be another $2,000-$2,500.
:cjk10. 11.88
