Motion by Enrooth, seconded by Marks to approve payment of $3 ,348.00 to <br /> Calgon Carbon Corporation for servicing the City carbon filtration <br /> 3 facilities during January, 1989. <br /> 4 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 5 Motion by Ranallo, seconded by Enrooth to approve payment of $3,450 to <br /> 6 Delson Plumbing, Inc. , for plumbing services in conjunction with the <br /> 7 remodeling of the City Fire Station and to defer action on the $765.00 <br /> 8 for the handicap charges for further information from staff as to why <br /> 9 those charges were not included in the original bid. <br /> 10 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 11 Motion by Marks, seconded by Ranallo to approve payments of $1 ,595..27 <br /> 12 and $3 , 235.50 to SEH. , Inc. , for engineering services from November 13 <br /> 13 through December 24, 1988 on the Foss Road lift station project and from <br /> 14 July 24 , 1988 through January 21, 1989 on the 1988 City MSA account. <br /> 15 Lotion carried unanimously. <br /> 16 REPORTS <br /> 17 COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> 408 Interesting Chem Council Meeting Reported <br /> 9 Councilmember Makowske reported she would be attending the Ramsey County <br /> 20 League of Local Governments the following evening. She also reported <br /> 21 attending the St. Anthony/New Brighton Chem Council luncheon February <br /> 22 . 1st from which she had returned with copies of various pieces of <br /> 23 literature which were being passed among the other Councilmembers for <br /> 24 their information. The Councilmember indicated there had been at least <br /> 25 20 persons present with representation from the school district, <br /> 26 including St. Charles Borromeo School, a City police officer and members <br /> 27 of the community. It was decided similar get-togethers every four or <br /> 28 six months would be advantageous to determine just how the Chem Council <br /> 29 could best serve the community. Mayor Sundland indicated he was glad <br /> 30 all schools were becoming involved, perceiving that was the only way in <br /> 31 which the drug awareness goals of the organization could ever be <br /> 32 realized. <br /> 33 Enrooth to Attend ' Hennepin County Ground Water_ Committee Meeting, <br /> 34 February 15th <br /> 35 The Councilmember commented that he understood state legislation related <br /> 36 to ground water contamination was already in the works and he perceived <br /> 37 a settlement with the Army for the Twin Cities Army Ammunition plant <br /> 38 contamination of St. Anthony's water supply would come just in time, <br /> 39 for anticipated state action regarding similar contaminations of <br /> 40 aquifers from uncapped wells and many other sources was imminent. <br /> 3 <br />
