. ain thou <br /> illa e <br /> Administrative Offices <br /> 3301 Silver Lake Road, St. Anthony, Minnesota 55418 <br /> (612) 789-8881 <br /> P R O C L A M A T I O N <br /> WHEREAS; trees were a significant attraction to Minnesota's <br /> settlers because of their usefulness and the beautiful <br /> environment they provided; and <br /> WHEREAS, trees are a most valuable resource in Minnesota today, <br /> purifying our air and water, helping conserve our soil and <br /> energy, creating jobs through a large forest products industry, <br /> serving as recreational settings, providing habitat for wildlife <br /> of all kinds, and enriching our lives in so many important ways; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, disease, insects, and pollutants have damaged and <br /> • continued to threaten -our trees, creating the need for <br /> reforestation programs and concerted public action toward <br /> ensuring the future of our state's urban and rural forest <br /> resources; and <br /> WHEREAS, the residents of St. Anthony recognize the wonderful <br /> gift that our trees represent and dedicate themselves to the <br /> continued health of our trees. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert J. Sundland, Mayor of St. Anthony <br /> Village, do hereby proclaim the week of April 24 through April <br /> 30, 1989, as ARBOR WEEK in the Village. <br /> Robert J.
