AGREEMENT FOR BUILDING INSPECTION SERVICES <br /> THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into this 14th day of October, 1997, <br /> between the City of St. Anthony, State of Minnesota (hereinafter referred to as <br /> "City") and Castle Company, Inc., _a Minnesota Corporation, dba Castle Inspection <br /> Service ("Building Official"). <br /> It is mutually agreed by and between City and Building Official as follows: <br /> I. SCOPE OF SERVICES. <br /> 1 . Building Official agrees to provide building and plumbing inspection services <br /> for the City. <br /> 2. The standards of performance and method of providing building inspections <br /> services shall be determined by the Building Official upon consultation with <br /> the City. <br /> 3. The City will receive all applications for building and plumbing permits for <br /> projects within its boundaries. Applications will then be forwarded to the <br /> Building Official who shall review the application materials for conformance <br /> ,to applicable building, plumbing, mechanical, zoning, and fire codes. Castle <br /> Company, Inc. shall be responsible for enforcing dimensional requirements of <br /> • the zoning code. Other zoning code issues such as land use and drainage, <br /> shall be referred to City staff for consultation. <br /> 4. The Building Official shall issue all permits as required by existing codes. <br /> Issuance will occur within a timely manner, typically within three business <br /> days of application for residential permits and five business days of <br /> application for commercial permits, assuming all materials are complete and <br /> the application meets the fire and zoning codes as determined by the Fire <br /> Marshal and Planner. <br /> 5. The Building Official shall provide necessary plan check services as required <br /> by the Uniform.Building Code. <br /> 6. The Building Official shall calculate all fees and charges due on a permit prior <br /> to approving the permit. Building permit fees shall be calculated using the <br /> fee schedule listed in the current edition of the Uniform Building Code as <br /> adopted by the State of Minnesota. The fees for plumbing permits shall be <br /> established by the City Council. The City shall be responsible for collecting <br /> said fees from applicant and then accounting and disbursing the funds as is <br /> required bylaw. <br /> • 7. The Building Official shall confirm with the City that all appropriate <br /> contractor's licenses (city and/or state) have been issued prior to the <br /> issuance of any building or plumbing permit. . <br />
