City Council Meeting Minutes November 9, 1999 Page 6 ' 1 Central Park. He then suggested the Commission meet with the new City Council and present 2 the plan. He encouraged the Commission to take the initiative. 3 Marks would speculate that by February. or March it would be beneficial to have a joint meeting 4 for those individuals who are going to be part of the Commission. 5 Marks also stated that there are openings for seats on the Parks Commission. He clarified that 6 one Commissioner has moved outside the City limits, and will serve until the end of this year, or 7 until a replacement is found. Another Commissioner has decided not to renew his term after the 8 end of the year. Marks encouraged interested residents-to consider applying for a seat on the 9 Parks Commission. He also pointed out that the newly elected City Council would need to ap- 10 point a new Council Liaison to the Parks Commission. 11 E. City Manager. 12 Morrison reported on property updates that had been authorized by the Council to be purchased: 13 14 1. 2700 and 2704 Pahl Avenue. The City is now the owner of those two properties. Public 15 Works Director Jay Hartman will be monitoring those properties for security purposes, as 16 well as the property at 2809 30th Avenue. 17 2. 2713 Pahl Avenue is tentatively scheduled to close on November 29. 18 3. 2548 Kenzie Terrace is tentatively scheduled to close by December 21, 1999. 19 Morrison continued by stating that in terms of the three properties on Pahl Avenue, Todd 20 Hubmer, Jay Hartman, and Morrison have been made aware of interest from builders to buy the 21 homes and relocate them. Mr. Hubmer, Mr. Hartman, and Morrison are in the process of 22 obtaining bids and intend on providing a plan to the Council in early January. Morrison stated 23 that it is the intention to either get the homes relocated or demolished by spring so the original 24 project can proceed. 25 4. The property at 2809 301h Avenue will remain, at Council's discretion, until the Harding 26 project proceeds. 27 28 5. The property at 2548 Kenzie Terrace-would most likely be demolished. 29 On another issue, the Police Chief and Morrison held a quarterly meeting on November 8, 1999 30 with the Falcon Heights Lauderdale Administrators. The issue at hand is the new police contract 31 cost proposals, and the renewal must be agreed to by May 15, 2000 by Falcon Heights, St. 32 Anthony, and Lauderdale. City Staff will present a recommendation at the February or March 33 worksession to present to those cities. '
