Questions for Parks Commission Candidates <br /> 1. Why do you want to be appointed as a Parks Commissioner? <br /> 2. What other Community volunteer activities have you been involved <br /> with that you enjoyed doing? Why? <br /> 3. As a Parks Commissioner, how would you deal with conflicting <br /> opinions between Commissioners regarding a park project? With <br /> residents? With the Council? <br /> 4. Being on the Commission is a time commitment every month. Some <br /> issues may require time spent researching and studying all aspects of <br /> an issue, in addition to attending meetings that may go longer than 1 <br /> or 2 hours. Is this a commitment that you can accommodate into your <br /> schedule? <br /> 5. The City parks are to be redeveloped to incorporate storm water <br /> retention uses as well as recreational uses. While water retention is <br /> not traditionally associated as a park use, will you, as a Parks <br /> Commissioner, be able to accept and support the concept of parks <br /> being utilized in this non-traditional fashion? How will you convince <br /> or explain this concept to sports groups and organizations in the City? <br />
