City Council Regular Meeting Minutes of April 25, 2000: <br /> 11 Change references from "Mr."Hanson to "Dr."Hanson. <br /> 12 The balance of the Consent Agenda was approved as presented, which included: <br /> 13 A. Board of Review Minutes of April 25, 2000; <br /> 14 C. Licenses (The Snelling Company, St. Paul, MN (Heating Contractors License);Cedar <br /> 15 Valley Heating & Air(Heating Contractors License); Minneapolis Department of Parks <br /> 16 and Recreation/Gross Golf Course (3.2 Beer Permit- Renewal)); <br /> 17 D. Four pages of Verified Claims. <br /> 18 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 19 VIII. PUBLIC HEARINGS. <br /> 20 None. <br /> 21 IX. GENERAL POLICY BUSINESS OF THE COUNCIL. <br /> 22 A. Resolution 00-035,re: Fire Training Contract. <br /> 23 Cavanaugh invited City Manager Michael Momson to review the issue of the fire training con- <br /> 24 tract. Momson offered that the Minneapolis Fire Department is offering to neighbor departments <br /> 25 use of their training campus. The campus includes classrooms, a six-story tower, and a propane- <br /> 26 fueled dwelling fire simulator. The campus is located on the waterworks property in Fridley. <br /> 27 Mornson directed the Council's attention to a memorandum from Joel Hewitt dated May 1, 2000, <br /> 28 and presented on page 22 of the agenda packets. The memorandum stated that the primary inter- <br /> 29 est in the St. Anthony Fire Department in the offered training surrounds the fire simulator. Mr. <br /> 30 Hewitt further stated in his memo that it is essential for the City's fire department to have the <br /> 31 opportunity with live fire training. <br /> • <br />
