The Legislative session
has been taking longer than anticipated and has kept us busy at the Capitol. We did want to get you
a quick update on some of the different funding sources that we have been exploring:
1) Department of Trade and Economic Development
The Department of Trade and Economic Development has several opportunities that we
are exploring. Included are Economic Development and Housing challenge grants, Small
Cities Development Program- including public facility grants and gap financing.
2) Department of Transportation
We are looking into applying for funds through the Department of Transportation and the
DOT's Metropolitan Division. We will be in communication with them to explore funding
sources from both the state and the federal governments.
3) Minnesota Housing Finance Agency
The Minnesota Housing Agency has both Single family and multifamily grant programs that
we have been exploring. The single family housing programs include Community
Revitalization funds and pipeline programs that we can plug into. Multifamily initiatives
include the Family Housing Fund, Economic Vitality and Housing Initiatives and a
consolidated Multifamily RFP process. We will work with the Minnesota Family Housing
Finance Agency to pinpoint the programs that would make the most sense for St. Anthony
Village.
